Managed services aren’t always something you associate with staffing or employment services. Often, the phrase is used in terms of technology or internet security. But there are companies, like Anserteam, that provide managed services to help with your human resources needs. So, how do you know if you need a managed service provider (MSP)? And once you start working with one, how do you determine the effectiveness of the services? Here are three things to consider before you start your relationship with a managed service provider.

  1. Consider the gaps in your current resources.

If you’re looking for a managed service provider, it means you already believe your offerings could be enhanced with a partner. So, take a step back and look at what you currently do with the resources at your disposal and consider how you can improve with the help of an MPS partnership. What is your business trying to accomplish overall, not just with a staffing partner. Then, drill down to what you think you need before talking with an MSP to determine how they can help fill your organization’s gaps.

  1. Establish and communicate your expectations.

Throughout the process, your MSP partner is only as good as the information you’ve provided to them. Even though they do this on a regular basis, you can’t expect that they have the tools they need to work with your specific company. Every organization is different, and you’re no exception. Good communication will be essential to the process, especially when it comes to your overall expectations about what you want them to provide for your business.

  1. Be sure to view your MSP as a partner in your business.

An MSP is an outside resource, but that doesn’t mean they don’t become part of your essential team during this process. It’s important that you view them as a partner in your business, or you run the risk of not taking what they do or suggest seriously. Therefore, you need to make sure your internal team is on board in terms of working with the MSP. And while you need to take a look at competitive pricing, know the cost shouldn’t be the only factor in your decision-making process.
